Most of the websites I’ve visited seem to be scams asking you to purchase their book and information. I believe if there are grants out there, no one should have to pay for this information or to apply. If you know of any legitamit free grant programs for single parents, single mothers, teachers, low income home owners, etc….please let me know.
I am a single mother with 2 children solely supporting our household on a full time low income budget. (TSS worker) Paying bills and the mortgage has become unbearable due to the courts terminating the support I use to receive for my daughter. Her father could afford a corrupt lawyer using her support payments, and I had to go bankrupt. I also qualify and am presently receiving food stamps and other low income help from utility companies, school, etc. My other child’s father is in and out of drug rehabs and prison, so getting support from him via the court system has been a joke for the past 14 yrs. Can the mom just decide to take the kids with her to another house in the same state? We have 2 kids, can i call the cops on her when she decides to move out? What are my rights and is she able to take both the kids? I want to at least keep one while she takes the other until the divorce settles. What can i do?

I have an appointment with a lawyer to file for divorce & custody 3 weeks after she plans to move out. WHAT CAN I DO UNTIL THEN?

This is one career that truly interests me. I would love to try and help people, diagnosis them, listen to them and whatever else they need. But it seems like the media always belittles psychologists. Movies always portray them as loonybins or crazy people. If someone’s married to a psychologist, they always get some kind of criticism such as “oh, maybe you can ask the loony head” or a kid might be made of fun, “your dad’s a shrink, he’s crazy” or something along those lines.

Isn’t this a respectable career? If a women tells her highschool friends she married a medical doctor or lawyer, it’s considered as an accomplishment. Is it the same way for a psychologist?

Also, just for my own knowledge, how does this career pay? What’s the average income? And is it a very time consuming job? Would you have time to really enjoy life and have a family or is this a job that consumes you?

My husband and I got married a month ago, he is a Kenyan Citizen here on an F-1 Student Visa, I am a US citizen. He has a social security card and drivers liscense. We had a consultation with a lawyer about applying for residency and of course he reccommended we use his services but he wants $1,500 and thats a lot of money for us. He told us many horror stories about people applying on their own. My question is should we use a lawyer? Also, if you send a form in and they send it back because of a mistake, do you have to pay the fee again when you send the corrected form back? Is it really that complicated to do this on our own?
