Women’s Random Thoughts

My dad has another family in a foreign country. What do you think can be done?

women career family issue
I’ve dealt with this fact all my life that my pops has another family in another country. There are several factors that make this a tough issue. For years he wants to bring them over and that will cause some serious problems. He wants to let them stay with us.

1. the family over there (my four half brothers) have always threatened to hurt my mom once they got here. My pop’s is now bringing them over after many years

2. My parents won’t divorce primarily because my mom doesn’t want to. She’s a career woman and has been very very successful. She doesn’t want to give half of their belongings because my dad would take a lot of what she’s earned away and give it to his sons. She’s all about money.

3. I want to move on with my own career, but if I were to leave, my dad would hand them the keys to operating one of our profitable family businesses. I want to improve the business, let it stand on its own.
Any attempt to communicate with my “half brothers” have been futile. They hate this side of the family because we are in the states and all my life, they’ve never written. It seems like they just want to take my dad and his money. They know of his relative success. I have been to this country and it is full of money mongrols. I can’t convince my dad of this and there are those in the family who support him on supporting his children. I partially agree, but don’t know how to go about this. My dad, cannot return because he got out in the first place due to political problems.

Suggestions? I’m tired of the family drama and just want to move on with my own life.
Oh, the only person they talk to is my dad. They tell them they are all miserable and just ask for money. He sends it, and the currency exchange goes far, so I know that they are fine. They don’t work, they just go out to cock fights. I work nearly everyday in the family biz and get nowhere near the respect he gives them.

parenting single mother
My ex came from a single parent home, his father left when he was weeks old. I feel like his mother over-compensated for this, probably because she felt guilty, and enabled him to be a general f**k up….

I really think a lot of his problems are due to her parenting (and the fact she was in HS when she had him)

How does a boy learn how to be a man when he grew up without one and was pretty much spoiled rotten with love and sometimes material objects??

Weight loss programs for the very obese?

best weight loss programs
Are there any online weight loss programs out there for people weighing more than 300 pounds? A lot of the plans out there require fitness levels that obiously most people in that weight range don’t have? There can’t be any in person meetings and it would help if the plan was affordable.

Wii Fit workouts when pregnant?

wii fit women
Do any other pregnant woman out there have the Wii Fit? The workouts are a lot of fun, but I’m tired of it calling me obese and commenting on how my center of balance (COB) is getting worse as my stomach protrudes more & more and my COB shifs farther out front. By the time I’m 9 months along, the Wii Fit board will either completely give up on me or will have been smashed in a fit of temper for callin me fat one too many times.
The workouts are a lot of fun. Some are more challenging than others, and as you get better, you have options for making them more challenging. My favorite is Advanced Step Aerobics.

What are some good tips on keeping a non insulated home warmer in the winter?

winter home tips
My landlord is to cheap to insulate. I live in an old home, 6 big room apartment. Ive already closed a couple of rooms off, but the way the place is set up the heat wont even really reach my bedroom. It doesnt help that they keep their windows open a lot because the girlfriend has “hot flashes” either.

Lat year, even with plastic over my windows, my gas bills were almost $350 a month and that was on low. Cant afford to keep doing that.

Please also keep in mind I cant be putting all kinds of holes and such in the place.

Moving is not an option right now.

Any thoughts, advice?
Note: Landlord and girlfriend live downstairs, I live up.
Ni I am not getting their heat. They have ceiling fans to make sure I dont.
chatsplas, Look I am just asking for some advice. I never said he had to insulate it.

I do not have storm windows, there are ONLY screens.. And yes, they are locked tight. ;)
Thats perfect Jo. Thank you. =)

Stay at home and Moms who work outside the homes, can we settle our differences and find common ground?

work at home moms
It seems like we have a lot of moms who feel the need to defend their choice to either work or to stay at home. Many of us do this for different reasons.

Why can’t we accept that neither situation is 100% the right thing in all circumstances instead of criticizing those who either are stay at home moms or work outside the home moms.

Can’t there be a way to support and encourage each other instead of having to criticize or get defensive over our choices?

Stay at home moms, is your hubby at work a lot?

work at home moms
My hubby works in law enforcement and works long hours often. We have a toddler. I don’t have any family around here, due to job situations. I try to stay busy with going to the park, running errands, playdates with friends, “me” time when hubby is off, etc. Who else is in the same boat as me and how do you cope?
Thanks!
